Cyrus and Ann | Black Tie Wedding

August 21, 2018

“Grow Old With Me, are the lyrics Cyrus and Ann danced to on their wedding night, surrounded by family and friends at the Heyde Center for the Arts. Their guests looked on through candlelight as the band sang, and Cyrus and Ann twirled about the floor. Ann’s father, Jerry noted in his speech that this venue was particularly special, because Ann and her sister Jeanne grew up performing there.

The morning of the wedding began early with the ladies getting ready at Ann’s family home. They were the sweetest bunch, helping one another with hair and make up, and helping me hang dresses up to be photographed. I couldn’t help but notice how lovely these ladies were. It’s no surprise though, because they are some of Ann’s dearest friends.  I’ve only recently gotten to know Ann but she is an incredibly joyful person, and is so kind too. She was even helping me move furniture on her wedding day, so we could have pretty natural light when she got in her dress. She’s seriously the best.

The gents airbnb that afternoon, was so chill. When I arrived a couple of the guys were watching reruns of Friends, and one had just woken up from a nap. They had met for lunch earlier, and were just enjoying the slow pace of the day.  They gradually got ready as I got some classic groom portraits of Cyrus. Having known Cyrus and several of the groomsmen for years it was really fun to be the one documenting this part of the day. We headed outside and were able to capture some great photos of all the gents in their tuxedos before heading to the church for the ceremony.

The wedding mass was beautiful, steeped in Catholic Tradition. Cyrus and Ann exchanged vows, and declared their love for one another in front of all of their family and friends. As guests headed over to the reception to dance the night away we stopped at a nearby country road to grab some of the sweetest portraits. Being from the city this was a first for me, but I think the results are fantastic.

Cyrus and Ann thank you for trusting me to document your wedding day. It was truly an honor.
