Ireland was full of adventure. It began with a late night arrival into Dublin, a cute taxi driver, and our room at the hostel having it’s own bathroom. Score! We explored Trinity college, found comfort in the warmth and familiarity of Starbucks. We ate several times at The pie maker in Galway- meat pie, veggie pie, apple pie, it was all delicious. (Thanks Helen for the recommendation!) We mostly did a lot of wandering, with a general idea of cities we wanted to see but with no real plan on how and when we would get there. At one point, the result of following our whim was walking around Dingle in the pouring rain with our backpacks, knocking on door after door hoping for a place to stay… after 5 doors or so we found a place to stay for the night. My favorite thing though, was just soaking in the sights of beautiful fields, colorful row homes, street musicians, fresh flowers, and brightly painted doors.
